A glass of beer next to a bottle labelled Summer of the 17th Hop
The idea for a Summer of the Seventeenth Hop brew was playing on Willie's mind when a conversation with retiring Hobart Brewing Co head brewer Scott Overdorf sparked an interest in a USA yeast. In keeping with the USA theme, Willie wanted to use our Cascade hops for this brew and had a West Coast IPA style in mind. Although it finished quite high at 6.7% abv, it's dangerously light on the palate, unlike our other heavies. There's a bit more back story on Summer of the 17th Hop in this article: https://craftypint.com/news/3389/summer-of-the-seventeenth-hop
With the majority of this brew kegged for events like Hobart Community Hop Festival and the annual TrailGraze weekend, bottles are in short supply so hop in quick if you're keen to try some.
It's on tap in our cellar door and will also be pouring at Hobart Community Hop Festival over this coming weekend (6-7 April). Bottles will be available at Harvest Launceston Community Farmers Market on Saturday morning and in our cellar door Thursday to Sunday. A very limited number of cartons will be available through our online store (access via the button below).

TrailGraze 2024 is back and we'll have grazing boards and a special "top shelf" tasting paddle available on the Saturday and Sunday for this year's event. These can be booked in advance via the "book online now" button on our website.
There are limited places and sessions available and platters won't be available for walk-ins.
